The Philippines is a very complex country for a number of reasons. For starters, you will find that the country comprises of 7,641 magical islands, 2,000 of which are uninhabited.  Some of these islands even disappear with the tide! You will then find the 7,641 islands are then divided into 17 regions and from there, broken down even further into 81 provinces. These provinces then consist of a number of component cities and municipalities. So, from this, you can see how complex it can be! Don’t fear though. Through this website, I hope to give you a guide to identify and simplify the Philippines destinations that are the best of the best.
How do I get to the best Philippines destinations?
So how do you navigate your way around this amazing country? The thing to remember is the Philippines typically has three main geographic regions. Luzon in the north, the Visayas in the centre, and Mindanao in the south. However, to bring more understanding to the total geography, and for the purpose of this website, I have broken the destinations down into the 14 administrative regions. From there, you will see the places or towns I have been to within each province. Hopefully, this gives you a better geographical understanding of the Philippines when it comes to planning your adventures in this amazing country.

As I have mentioned on my home page, it’s the journey and not the destination that matters. You will find most of the fun lies in traveling to some of these amazing places. Although some of the modes of transport can be frustrating, inconvenient and time-consuming, it’s up to you how enjoyable you make it. Filipinos love having fun and always have a smile on their face. This can make it pretty hard to get too upset and frustrated with the journey. With so much amazing scenery around, it pays to just sit back and enjoy the ride.Â
