Batlag Falls is only about a ten-minute walk from Daranak Falls, and can only be accessed via Daranak Falls. The walking track from Daranak Falls is reasonably well maintained and safe for walking. Batlag Falls is one of the most amazing waterfalls I have ever seen. Batlag Falls isn’t just one waterfall; there are several waterfalls of varying size and strength, which really must be seen to be believed.

The whole area of Batlag Falls is just like a series of waterfalls falling from the top of a set of rocks, that are about 30-40 metres wide. The waterfalls cascade into two basins – one is around 4-5 feet deep while the other is around 12-14 feet deep. The shallower one has a larger swimming area and a couple bigger and wider waterfalls, while the deeper one has a narrower higher waterfall.

We spent a good couple of hours there having a relaxing picnic lunch and then chilled out in the pools at the base of the waterfalls. We went on a Saturday so it was quite busy, but if you went on a weekday, you would have this whole paradise to yourself. Words can’t do any more justice for these amazing falls, so check out the pics:

A panoramic view of the main waterfall from the mid level, just above the picnic area. Not a bad place to have lunch eh?

The narrower, but just as spectacular waterfall leading into the deeper basin. Only recommended for good swimmers and those that are more adventurous.

A truly majestic waterfall. The water cascading gently down the rock face evokes such a relaxing atmosphere.
